RSS3 is currently at an early stage. Though an exact trajectory cannot be planned beforehand, we have the following stages guiding the development of the project. Also, you can always take a look at the technical roadmap here:

Stage 1 (2022 Q1)

Standard: Come up with the RSS3 Standard

Pre-Node: Pre-nodes are introduced in the early stage, which will be temporarily run by the team.

Whitepaper: Whitepaper is released, describing how this new type of decentralized network will be constructed

Demo: Demo apps including Web3 Pass and Revery are developed with initial user tractions

Governance

Ecosystem: Basic developer docs are ready with at least 10 ecosystem applications

Stage 2 (2022 Q4)

Standard: Continuous development of the RSS3 Standard

Node: Release the decentralized nodes running the testnet, allowing external participants to be elected and stake $RSS3 as SN and GI operators

Ecosystem: Hackathons will be planned and an ecosystem fund will be established

Governance: Gradually bring more decisions to the DAO, where token holders would make collective decisions

Crossbell: An Ethereum side chain will be introduced, specifically working for RSS3-related activities

Stage 3 (2023 Q4)

Standard: Continuous development of the RSS3 Standard

Node: Stable and decentralized nodes running the mainnet with the DAO overseeing all their operations

Ecosystem: Different applications and middleware will be built with the ecosystem collective becoming the backbone for decentralized information distribution

Governance: All decision-making will be conducted by the DAO through an automatic voting procedure
